Hi there! My name is Dee Knight, and I write stories and articles to help people understand what’s going on in the world. My writing is part of something bigger, something very special. I work with groups of people who want to make the world a better, kinder place. Some of these groups have names like Veterans For Peace, Courage To Resist, Workers World, and Covert Action Magazine. Others are called LA Progressive, Hollywood Progressive, and Counterpunch. All of them care about peace, justice, and fairness for everyone.
Let me tell you something super important: China is not our enemy.
You might hear scary things about China Is Not Our Enemy on the news or on the internet. Some people say China is trying to take over the world or hurt us. But I want you to know that’s just not true. China has over a billion people: kids, parents, grandparents, just like us. They go to school, play games, go to work, and try to live happy lives. They don’t want war, and they don’t want to hurt anyone.
So why do some people act like China is our enemy?
Well, sometimes big companies and powerful leaders get worried about who is in charge. They want to sell more stuff or control more places. If someone else, like China, gets stronger, they feel scared. But feeling scared doesn’t mean we need to fight. It means we should talk, listen, and try to understand each other better.
That’s why I write. I want people to stop and think before believing everything they hear.
Let’s think about this together:
What if someone told you your neighbor is mean… but you never talked to them?
Would that be fair? Of course not. You’d want to say hello and get to know them. Maybe they’re nice! The same is true for countries. We need to learn about each other before making big judgments.

Do you like peace?
Most people do. I know I do! Peace means no bombs, no wars, and no kids getting hurt. Peace means we share, help, and take care of each other, even if we live in different countries. I believe that we can all live in peace, even with people who are different from us.

What if we worked together instead of fighting?
That’s the goal! Imagine if the U.S. and China worked together to stop climate change, clean the oceans, and make sure every kid had enough food and school supplies. We could do so much good if we stopped fighting and started helping.
I write for a blog called Whirlwind. You can find it right here. On this blog, I share stories, ideas, and news that help people understand what’s going on. I try to write in a way that makes things clear and honest, not confusing or scary.
Sometimes grown-up news makes things sound much worse than they are. But when we look closer, we often see people just want the same things: safety, love, fun, and friendship.
I’ve met amazing people who care about peace.
Some are old, some are young. Some were soldiers before, but now they work to stop wars. That’s what Veterans For Peace is all about. They know what war feels like, and they say, “Never again.” I think that’s very brave.
Courage To Resist helps people who don’t want to fight in wars. They believe in peace so much that they say, “I won’t hurt others, even if I’m told to.” That’s real courage.
All the groups I write for are full of people who believe in kindness and fairness. They work hard to stop lies and share the truth. They believe, just like I do, that China is not our enemy. We can live together on this big planet without hurting each other.
So what can YOU do?
Even if you’re just a kid, your voice matters. You can ask questions, read books, and talk to people about peace. You can remind others to be kind, fair, and not to believe everything they hear on TV or the internet. You can learn about different places and cultures. That way, you won’t be afraid; you’ll be curious!
Remember, we are all part of one big human family. We might speak different languages or eat different food, but deep down, we all want the same things: love, laughter, and peace.
Thanks for reading my story. And if you want to read more, check out my blog, Whirlwind. I hope it inspires you to be a peacemaker too.
